#11 – Drink Beer and Wine
Wait, what? Did we just say that drinking alcohol can reduce your risk of cancer? Yes, we did. However, we aren’t advocating drinking huge amounts of alcohol to prevent cancer. Instead, we are advocating that you should drink moderate amounts of good wine or beer on a weekly basis to reduce the risk of stomach cancer.
Drinking alcohol moderately can kill the bacterium Helicobacter pylori, which is one of the main causes of stomach cancers. However, don’t drink more than six glasses of wine or two pints of beer per week. If you exceed that, you will actually increase your risk of developing certain types of cancer.
